APW - Illinois, "Paillard Non-Magnetic Watch Co, Chicago, USA" marked mvt and dial, 24J, 18S, gold-filled OF case with attractive engraving and engine turning, rear shield with initials, white enamel DS Gothic numeral dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, capped third wheel, jeweled barrel arbor, non-magnetic alloy balance wheel and hairspring, bright spotted pattern nickel damascene with gilt signature inlay on barrel bridge, s#1788929. A rare top grade private label, this example is notable for the eye appeal of its exceptionally lustrous movement.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, near mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, very strong gilt color on barrel bridge signature, few mild micro-fine scratches; dial with light outer chapter hl near 4, some fine scratches, very small edge flake under bezel near 12:30; fine hands, minute with near complete finish loss, hour with sizable portion of finish loss; case shows little wear, no dents or dings, very strong engraving and engine turning detail, some wear to brass on pendant; tight brassy bow, crown shows light wear; glass crystal with a few fine scratches.
